Couples Mattress Shopping Tips: How To Choose A Supportive And Comfortable Mattress

Shopping for your mattress is easy. It is easy to choose the right level of firmness, what mattress feels best to you and the price range you prefer.

It’s a whole different story if you are looking for a mattress for your partner. There are likely to be vastly different comfort preferences between you. You might prefer a firm mattress to one another. You might sweat like a crazy person when you are on a memory foam mattress, but your partner may have back problems and need to sleep on memory foam.

You haven’t even begun to discuss the money. Sometimes it can feel like you are buying a home.

We have some tips for couples who are looking to purchase a mattress, or those that plan on buying one soon.

1. 1. Decide On Your Budget

This sensitive matter should be dealt with as soon as possible.

What should you spend on a mattress? What should you spend on a mattress?

It all depends on many factors.

First, what price range are you able to afford? There are three options: a budget, a medium-range or a high-end mattress (-), and a premium (-).

After you have chosen your price range, you will be able to compare mattresses within this range. Don’t be rigid. If a mattress is more expensive than you can afford but you still want it, many companies offer financing options that will allow you to spread the cost over several months.

Remember that a mattress can be an investment. It is better to spend a little more on a mattress that will last 10 years or longer than on one that will only last a few years.

I recommend that you do not buy a mattress less than €100. If you are looking for a mattress that will last a long time, consider buying a queen or king size.

Quality mattresses have a profound effect on your quality of life.

You will feel healthier, more productive, and happier if you get enough sleep.

2. Discuss Any Special Comfort Needs Either Of You May Have

At some point in their lives, 80% of Americans have experienced low back pain. There is a good chance that you have a back problem. This could be a mild, occasional or severe condition. When shopping for a mattress, you should take this into consideration.

For people suffering from back pain, physiotherapists and chiropractors often recommend a medium-firm memory mattress. It offers better pressure relief and contouring to your lower back, joints, and muscles.

You will need a mattress that is extremely cool if you suffer from excessive sweating at night. A latex, innerspring or natural foam mattress are all options. Hybrid mattresses like the Alexander Signature and Avocado natural Mattress can also keep heat away. Do not buy a memory foam mattress.

3. 3. Determine Your Preferred Firmness Level

Which mattress is your favorite? A medium-firm mattress is acceptable for most people. A medium-firm mattress is best for you both. Most online mattresses are medium-firm.

What if each person prefers different firmness levels? Look for a seller who offers customizable mattresses.

Split mattresses can be purchased online by mattress companies that offer customized options for each partner. One side might be extra firm or extra soft, while the other may be firm.

While customizable mattresses can be more expensive than regular ones, each one of you will get a great night’s sleep.

4. 4.

Standard mattresses like Purple, Leesa, and Casper can support the combined weight of two people. If either of you are overweight, the mattress will be put under more pressure. You need something that won’t give up after a few months.

An innerspring mattress is my recommendation. This mattress provides greater support and durability. The Saatva mattress is a good example. The mattress is extremely supportive and durable thanks to its two coil layers, a comfort coil layer and a base layer.

Before you purchase a mattress, make sure to check the weight limit. Some mattresses have a weight limit of 136 kg, but this may not be sufficient for all couples. Find a mattress that has a minimum weight limit of kg if one of you is over 91kg.

Even heavier sleepers can get a mattress made specifically for them. The Big Fig mattress is a good choice.

5. 5. Find A Mattress That Is Good For Sex

It’s obvious that you should get the best mattress for sex. Avoid mattresses that are too hot, have little bounce or make loud and squeaky sounds with every movement.

You want a mattress that is responsive (latex, innerspring, etc.), cools quickly (again latex, innerspring) and has a solid design with a strong foundation layer.

Leesa is a top-rated mattress for sex. The top layer of the mattress is made from Avena foam, a latex-like foam. This gives it some bounce and keeps it cool.

Saatva, Nest Love & Sleep mattress, and Keetsa Plus Pillow Plus are just a few of the other great options.
